The Routing department provides computerized routing of buses to provide safe, effective, and efficient student transportation. The department assigns buses, safe bus stops, and bus routes. It maintains the database for transportation routes and prepares and maintains route schedules for all bus drivers, transportation district managers, and eligible schools.
The routing department communicates with the Planning department on county map changes. Any route changes or adjustments which affect students and schools will be forwarded to the school's principal and district manager, thus assuring the most current routing information.
If, for any reason, a parent wishes to have a change made a child's bus route, that request must be made through the district manager [ http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/www.php/schools-and-centers#transportation ] for the school.
It is against procedure for drivers to make unapproved changes to their routes, so please do not ask your child's driver to make a change to a route or stop. Please contact your district manager instead.
