| Shamrock Middle |
| Shamrock became a middle school in 1996 after many years as a high school. In August of 2008, Shamrock was authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School. This distinction is held by only a few schools in the state of Georgia. Our student population comes to us from six very unique and diverse elementary schools in an interesting residential area of north central DeKalb. Shamrock has a rich and diverse student population – most of the world’s countries and many of the world’s religions are represented at Shamrock. Shamrock has a wide variety of programs to meet the needs of all students. |
Our goal is that each of our eighth graders will leave Shamrock as a successful student, prepared to meet both the academic and social rigors of high school, with a social consciousness that will lead to him/her becoming a contributing member of society.
Our mission is to build a strong foundation for life-long learning by engaging students in challenging experiences, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and to become productive members of society. |

| The PTSA is actively supportive of the school and numerous parent volunteers can be found in the building daily. The dedication and creativity of the teachers to middle school education can be seen in the numerous displays and activities being sponsored throughout the building. Shamrock boasts an outstanding staff mentoring program that addresses the unique needs of our students Each year over 100 7th grade students spend several instructional days exploring marine science and Georgia history while visiting Skidaway and Ossabaw Islands on the Georgia coast. |
