| Narvie J. Harris Theme Elementary School opened its doors in 1998. The Harris school was named for a woman who was an outstanding African-American educator in DeKalb County for many years. Narvie J. Harris has a rigorous curriculum and mandatory parent participation. |

| Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten have their own separate classroom areas at the Harris school. Other grade levels are on separate halls. Harris is a Theme elementary school, which means that students must wear uniforms, parents must participate, and academic achievement is expected. |
