| Kelley Lake Elementary School strives to provide students with an academically challenging environment and an interdisciplinary approach to learning. The building is home to bright, interesting classrooms, a renovated courtyard, and a new computer lab equipped with up-to-date technology. Kelley Lake’s teachers and staff are dedicated and hardworking—determined to bring our students to the next level. |
The Mission of Kelley Lake Elementary is for the school, parents and community to work collaboratively to provide rigorous educational opportunities for students that maximize their academic and social potential so they become lifelong learners.
We believe that |

|
All students are unique individuals who learn in different ways. |
|
|
Teachers, parents, and the community share responsibility for student achievement and success. |

We provide a variety of activities for our community. In the fall, our grandparents are honored at a special lunch. In October parents and family members join the students and staff for the annual carnival at the school. In the spring, parents join us again for a spring picnic. The school also sponsors family activities such as computer nights, "Make & Take" nights, and family "read-aloud" times.
Kelley Lake is home to a very large physical education field where the P.E. instructor, Cortim Martin, has taken advantage of the asset and developed an excellent P.E. program. Mr. Martin also organizes the Field Day in the spring, which everyone—even parents—enjoys.
After-school tutorials are offered twice weekly January through March, with transportation provided. Students in 4th and 5th grades may also participate in the band music programs. Throughout the year, students work toward grade level goals in reading by working with the Reading Counts and Peer Reading programs. Students may also serve as Safety Patrols, Peer Mediators, and Peer Tutors.
We have an active PTA. Our PTA officers are Ms. Dara Zacheary, President; Mr. Russell Richards, Vice President; Ms. Tamela Hampton, Treasurer; and Ms. Guan Simmons, Secretary. |
