Fernbank Elementary School, which has served its community since 1957, is located in Druid Hills, one of the most beautiful and historic residential neighborhoods in Atlanta. Fernbank Elementary is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School.. . While the focus is on providing a quality basic education for the children, the program enhances the total education of each child and includes foreign language, art, music, physical education, and computer/technology literacy.
All students are encouraged to assume personal responsibility for their academic performance. The faculty continuously assesses educational programs (based on current trends and technological advancements) as they prepare students to assume the responsibilities of citizenship in a global society. |

| Fernbank Elementary a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) School. This inquiry-based method of teaching begins with the enthusiasm and curiosity that children naturally possess. At the heart of the program are five essential elements: knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action. Students are required to learn a second language, in addition to the instructional language. The opportunity to network with colleagues throughout the world and to share best practices and materials will truly be a bonus for our students. |
