Looking Ahead at MGHS - February |
The Principal's Book of the Month for February is: Dreams From My Father by Barak Obama All students are asked to participate in the 25 book Campaign.
Black History Month Theme: From Obama to Imhotep: A Salute to Renaissance Men
For safety reasons, students are not allowed to enter the building until 7:30 A.M.
- February 6, 20, 27: GHSGT Tutorials, Transportation will be provided.
- February 10: 4.5 Week Progress Reports Issued
- February 11: The first of 3 Title One Parent Workshops will be held at 6:30. A light dinner will be provided.
- February 12-15: Winter Holiday, school closed
- February 16: Parent Conference Night from 4:30 - 6:30.
- February 18: PTSA @ 6:30
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
When school reopens on Jan. 5, if your child's book bag is not clear or mesh, the bag will be confiscated and not returned.
Electronic devices are a major disruption at MGHS. Beginning in January, all cellphones, ipods, MP3 players that are taken will only be returned on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30. A parent must pick up the device.
Tights with back pockets are not considered jeans and are not allowed.

If a student misses 10 days of school, the Department of Motor Vehicles will rescind their driver's license or permit.
The school day begins at 8:10. Students who are late to school or classes will receive detention. Students who do not report to detention or have multiple tardies will be assigned in-school suspension or out of school suspension.
Juniors may pay for the PSAT test starting Monday, September 21. The cost is $15.00.
All car riders should be off campus by 3:45. Parents, please pick up your students in a timely manner.
Miller Grove's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will once again host the Region 12 Region Leadership Conference at DeKalb Technical College on Friday, January 29th from 8:00-4:00. For more information please, see or contact Ms. La'Sonya Smith, Regional Adviser!
